Best Team Building Activities: Mild & Wild
Willows Lodge’s fun team-building exercises that fuel a little friendly competition, while also firing up the friendships
Located right next door to Willows Lodge, this adventure park’s most obvious teambuilding activity is its elaborate ropes course featuring 30 aerial obstacles from zip lines and suspension bridges to cargo nets and “Tarzan ropes.” But, beyond this, there are other more activities offered at the property, including Build-A-Boat workshops, and various activities, games, and challenges that encourage thinking on your feet and collaboration.
Run by an acting coach who has worked with executives teams from companies like Google, Yahoo, and Microsoft, these workshops offer training in improvisational techniques to help individuals, teams, and whole companies start to communicate and work together more effectively, while having a few laughs along the way.
Glass Blowing Workshops
Did you know it’s almost impossible to work with blown glass without the help of at least one other person? Such is the point behind these classes, offered by the Redmond School of Glass, where groups work together to create collaborative blown-glass piece using communication and cohesion.
Willows Lodge’s culinary team provides the prepped ingredients and tools to make different styles of sushi rolls from temaki and maki to nigiro and uramaki. Teams are then judged on taste and appropriate mix of ingredients, as well as technique/execution and visual appeal.
Brown Bag Wine Challenge
The lodge’s sommelier leads teams through a blind tasting where the wines’ labels are hidden within brown bags. After teams taste, they attempt to identify each wine/grape type while learning about each varietal, wine region, and winery.
