Event Info

  Friday 29, November 2024

  6:00 PM - 8:30 PM

Michigan native, now Seattle-based, Sarah Brunner is a full time musician, both solo and with her band The Hipocrats. With influences ranging from Brandi Carlile, to Sam Smith to The Lumineers, she uses rhythm guitar just as much as a vocal melody to define a song. Passionate about creating experiences in person, like setting the vibe for a small room or big stage, Sarah’s main focus is playing live shows and touring. She has been playing professionally since 2013 starting in East Lansing, MI while studying marketing and business management at Michigan State University. From here, she branched out to perform abroad in hostels in the UK, and continued to busk her way through Europe. Her heart has always been in Seattle so she relocated in 2017 and has lived there since.

In October 2021, Sarah released her first single, “Caravan,” featuring her friend from the music scene, Tyler McGinnis. It felt like meeting her musical soulmate, so the two decided to write music together and create their Americana band, The Hipocrats. Since forming in the fall of 2021, they released their debut 6 song EP titled “Road to Joy” which has hit over 22,000 streams on Spotify, and completed a 5 month, 90 show, 26 state national tour including a songwriters round in Nashville, the legendary Saxon Pub in Austin, and opening for Grammy nominated artist Will Hoge at Tractor Tavern in Seattle. The Hipocrats continue to play locally and tour nationally. Their debut full length album "Friend Ship Joyride" is out now produced by Grammy Award Winning Artist Chance McCoy. When Sarah is not doing something music-related, she's usually found running around the city training for her next ultramarathon. Some of her favorite races have included the 75 mile Silver Moon Race in Reedley CA, and Kaniksu 50. She also enjoys painting lamps she finds from Goodwill.
